Default Let's see your 66-67 Lemans/Tempest

OK.....the 64-65 guys did the same thing.....so here goes......I like GTO's just as much as the next guy, but let's see your 66-67 Lemans or Tempest.

I'll go first, but in starting this thread, it made me realize that I sure don't have very many pics of my ride....I'll have to work on that in the spring.....

Andre,
Do you know where the car is now? Cool to see another AC ohc.

66gt,
Still have the cammer in car?

RA67,
Very cool droptop, I kick myself for parting the 66' conv't I had.
It was a true Sprint but was way to far gone.

Looks like youve done the same as I did. Added the chrome along the fenders and rear qtrs. I like the efect of the GTO hood. Ive got one in my garage thats waiting for paint. Itl never be a full clone though. I sorta like the LeMans back end.

Yes, I did add all the lower fender and qtrs. Like the long clean look. Am not trying to clone, it's a LeMans and I proud to own one. In addition to the look of the Goat hood I needed the extra clearence for my intake and carb set up. A guy once asked me "Why Did You Put All That Money Into A LeMans" My answer was "Anyone Can Do A GTO, How Many Restored LeMans Do You Really See". Now am not knocking any of you GTO guys, I was just answering his question.

I bought my 67 Lemans OHC6 from the original owner. It was 1998, she was 96. Her daughter handled the transaction. I had known of the car for years. It only had 73,000 miles when I got it. It was bought at Stewart Pontiac in West Palm Beach.

In about 2002-2003, I sold it to a fellow in the New Orleans area- Metaire, I think. That was the last I heard of it.

Earlier in the year, I found this '67 Lemans for my friend. It is very much like my old car, but is a 326, with AIR. Califormia Black Plate. Factory am/fm, working a/c.
Odd thing about this Lemans is that it does not have the factory woodgrain, and obviously never had it. Classic Fremont deviation I assume.

I will post pictures later

Default My 66...

was a one owner car, found her online, but she was less than 3 miles from my house! I was going to clone her, but decided against it... she's just way too clean, save for the Earl Schieb repaint! I just found a 455, going to detail the engine bay before I drop it in. If I could only keep one car, I think it would be the LeMans, LOVE that color combo, red interior is sweet! BTW, how do I resize my pix? I keep getting error message, file too big - thanks!

Thumbs up

Here's A few pics of my 66 Lemans, I've had it for 24 years now! factory Barrier Blue car with blue Interior, Have the original Rally 1's wheels for it in the Shed, haven't PHS'd it to see if they were factory or dealer installed. My Dad's Best friend ,from High School, Bought the car new, Dad always liked the car, and told him if he ever decided to sell it to give him first divs. I bought it from Dad in Late 1983 First pic is from the Mid 80's when I was driving it daily, the 70 chevelle in the background was my winter "beater" at that time! after all isn't that what chevies are for? LOL!! BTW the 72 Carmaro in the background belong to a good friend of mine, Nice Car! was a 12 second street car which was very repectable back then!
