Default 1970 windshield

Could you get a green tint windshield only on a 70 gto and have the regular clear glass everywhere else? I saw a window sticker on a older gto that said "windshield only, tinted" or close to that with code A02.

Thanks ! Never knew that. Im replacing the windshield in my 70 GTO which was all clear,,,no tint,,like the rest of the car. Was going to go with another clear but after seeing that Im debating whether to put in the green tinted with the tint across the top but didn't want it to look odd but obviously they did it at the factory. Opinions?

not sure how the glass resellers can call the tint band "green", it's more of a blue, very similar to original. over the years, ESP with a vehicle parked outside majority of the time, the blueish color band fades to a bronzish hue. have pulled very nice original LOF windshields out of early '70's A-body's that the only flaw to them was the tint band had faded to the bronzish color.

Otherwise i'd do a Soft-Ray W/S

I'd do Soft-Ray ALL if it was a keeper.
That is one of my top favored general options on any car

Yes,,,one of the options I wish my car had . I bought a 70 door off a member here and it has the soft ray glass in it but will be swapping in the clear so it matches the rest but maybe someday Ill put aftermarket soft ray all through it because I do like the tint and would look good against the mint turquoise paint. Looking at the windshield pics on AMD,,the pic of the clear is all clear and the only other one is the glass that's all tinted green and also is tinted more at the top. Yeah its a keeper,,,owned since 1986 and one of my kids will end up with it when
Im gone. By what you've guys have said,,now Im leaning to get the green windshield. My original is sandblasted and is kind of hard to see through when the sun is just right. The glass is out at the moment because of painting so now is the time to do it

Scott, I have a 1970 Lemans Sport convertible in Turquoise Mint, also. One of the only options was the tinted front windshield. Unfortunately, mine is also sand blasted. I’ve owned the car for a couple of years and it was repainted so I can’t be much help on the paint questions. Good luck with your freshening up project. Sounds and looks like a great car!

Thanks,,, think I am going to go with the green windshield and convert to the softray look.. Sounds like you have a nice car also. I've yet to own a convertible.. 70 is my favorite LeMans.
