Default 68 tempest coil wiring question

On my 68 tempest I have a 2 wires running into the positive side of the coil, apparently for the resistor wire for the points,on the negative side 1 wire runs to the distributor but there is a terminal with a wire broken on that side to and I can't figure out where it may go,I don't see any broken wires in the harness and it doesn't look factory, was it common to add another ground on these?
I took the motor out last summer to replace the oil pan gasket and timing chain and I didn't take pics
Thanks
