Absolutely beautiful car Ron and Kevin! Twin to mine, though mine it not near as nice, lol. Good luck getting into the 12's..sounds like it has more than enough power to do it. So it's a 455 stoker with RAIV heads and a Comp solid roller? Any idea what kind of power it's putting down? How's it run on pump gas?

If I may butt in here....it's a 400 with a 455 crank, off-the-shelf hydraulic roller cam, and dished pistons to get 10:1 compression (actually I think it's just a hair under 10 IIRC). The heads and intake are untouched, not even port matched. Just careful selection of parts and some blueprinting. I would guess with slicks it would run deep in the 12's. I would love to see it with headers and slicks but like Ron said, that wasn't the intention here. There's a lot of improvements that could be made but then it would probably just blow the tires off that much harder.

Ron, throw that thing on a trailer and run it out to Englishtown, NJ this weekend for the FAST race at Musclepalooza X. You'll get to run it with a bunch of like minded racers AND show it off to thousands of potential buyers. I know at least one serious potential buyer will be there.

Oh BTW, you'll get to see the first FAST Pontiac to break into the 10s!

Default Frame

FYI I have had powder coated frames at two of the last three GTOAA nats and scored gold with powder coated frames, front control arms, and rear control arms. It seems to me if you get the finish correct it is impossible to tell the difference.

Don't let the cat out of the bag dude! That voice mail was privileged information, not for public consumption. News to follow!

Maybe even the 130 mph mark too.

Kevin feels the need to wet sand and buff even powder coat! His car his way was how this one went together. Never intended to be judges nor sold...but never say never...right? Anyway...it is what it is and that's good enough for us. Thanks again for the kind words. Anyone serious about a car and sees this one would be foolish not to realize what it costs to get one to this stage of the game. Wish we could afford to take her to a few meets but not in the cards right now. Anyway...we're still on a mission! Ron

Don't worry Chris. The info's been all over the FAST sites for a couple of days- may as well let a few Poncho guys know too.

Now back to your regularly scheduled RAIV GTO ad.

Oh, and Ron- If you take it to NJ you might not have to bring it home.

That's what I'm afraid of!!! Seriously...just received some valuable insight from the fellas that "know their chit" about this stuff. May be onto something here...time will tell...or should I say "times" will tell! Stay tuned! Thanks again. Ron

I can guess which side of the bleachers you'll be rooting from! Hope the track is halfway decent. Maybe John should slap on a set of Wide Ovals just to level the playing field. See ya soon. Ron

I'd be rooting for Kevin all the way, love to see him spank the Steelers fan! You'll definitely have to even up the rear rubber. I think John would still have the advantage on street tires but that would be an interesting match up. Right now from what I read you are at a 4-6 tenths deficit. Would be really great to see you both run slicks!

Better get those stubs replaced John!!

Are you going to make a few passes with it next weekend Ron?

Exclamation Update...

many interested parties that saw the car at Stanton may not realize that this car CAN be purchased without the driveline. We upgraded the tranny to a '71 "big" Muncie and a custom built clutch so it should take the punishment but again...we will offer the car in any stage of the game for a seriously interested party. You can drive the car and make your decision as to what you want at that time. I don't know where else you can buy a restored car of this caliber without the driveline OR test drive a roller! Cannot make it any easier than that...except for the fact that we can arrange delivery in an enclosed trailer to just about anywhere! New project is underway. Let's talk. Ron

Ron
You and I spoke a bit about your car at Stanton PSD's
Very nice GTO
I was hoping you would have changed your mind about racing it as my 70 GS Stage 1 Conv was hungry for a Race
Good luck with it's sale
