Default Sell used firearms

I know it’s kinda an off topic but thought some of you guys might have some experience.

Anyone used Gun Broker or Guns.com to sell? Any suggestions on how to sell? AFAIK, I can’t use a list or Marketplace. Is there any good place to find prices besides the two I mentioned.

Thanks
Murf

Try your local Are Hardware that has a sporting goods department or local Gun Smith shop for around here they gladly take them in and sell them on consignment. Give them a few bucks for handling the transaction.

Thanks Tim! No hardware stores around here sell guns anymore. Don’t really have many gun shops left either, mostly pawn & gun places. I checked it’s one and they said they’d give about 50% of what they sell for on Gun Broker.

I will expand my search area for gun shops that will do consignment.

Thanks again

I don't know how many you have to sell or what they are but you could get a table at the Kansas City gun shows and take them all or just go to the show(s) and take one or two and put a sign on your back telling people what you have and walk the aisles. People will stop you and want to look at them. Or just walk the aisles with the weapon(s) and no sign and people will stop you. At least that is the way it is here in Texas. The show will give you an idea of prices too. Go in without the weapons and walk the tables looking at prices.

As far as gun broker etc. I've never sold there but have bought there and it is a good venue for buying and selling guns IMO. Gun list too.

Gunbroker isnt bad. You can list them on Armslist.com which is basically a Craigslist/Marketplace for firearms.

If you have any AKs or ARs I'd be a potential buyer.

Not sure what you're selling, but most are covered by manufacturer or model specific forums, similar to this forum for Pontiacs. Sig, Glock, S&W, 1911, AR-15, etc. Most have classifieds. Here in Texas, we have Texas Guntrader. It's not what it once was, but is just an example of local type avenues.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I’ll look into Armslist & see when any gun shows are happening around here. Not enough value to have a table.

Nothing too cool. Plain ole 22’s. Would be good kids guns.

Thanks!

Gunbroker.com is good, but you have to navigate your way through the sales process. Not terribly complicated but takes a bit of time. You’ll get the most for you guns there but they charge a % fee.

Gunsinternational.com is a site to list your guns and then you deal one on one with the buyer and their FFL. They charge a flat fee per ad.

I hope their fee is less than Ebay. I calculated the last few sales I did on Ebay and it came up to 16.14 percent of the sale price!........

I have used auctionarms.com to buy a used rifle. It went smoothly.

I've used gunbroker. Yes there are feeds, but simple process. Ultimately it must go FFL to FFL if out of state trx.

See if you can find a message board/forum for the state you live in, join and list them in their classifieds (usually free to do) Local usually (depending on some states) usually avoids shipping, ffl fees, etc.
On face to face meetings, do in a public place, some people get a signed bill of sale, etc. Figure out what you are comfortable with.

And lastly? What do you have? I’m always wheeling and dealing in firearms and car parts - my 2 vices!

Go to a local gun range or gun sales shop and ask around some,
likely you will find someone possibly interested.
I actually have an Old 22-piece to get rid of, those places to first ask around about this, to get done locally.

Probably not in the best interests of the PY forums to become involved in firearm sales.

Liability is always a concern.

However feel free to discuss the ins and outs of this and share your experiences.

My Dad collected hand guns. While not well-known, a number of folks knew about them, and these were the FIRST items of which I disposed; as I feared break-ins at the empty house.

Checked around locally, and found the local gun-traders gathered at the local barber-shop and did some buying, selling, and trading, in addition to solving all of the world's problems.

It took about a week to sell them all, although not to the first individual to make an offer. This was several years ago, but the method I would suggest at least trying.

Jon.
