Looks great (I thought it was bare metal until I opened the attachments!).

Let us know how the fender install goes. Normally the wheelhouse inner is attached to the fender before the fender/liner assembly goes to the car (that's how the assembly plant did it).

Going back to your earlier headliner question - it's easier without the glass installed because that way you can load the headliner straight into position directly through the daylight opening (either from the rear or from the front).

Keith,
I now have both fenders permanately installed and they are perfect with perfect gaps too. I hung the fenders on the car before it was painted just to make sure all the gaps were good.
I will agree its easier to remove the front tires and install the fender with it attached to the inner fender but I ddnt do t that way.
I taped up the door, firewall, rad support and header so I didnt accidently scratch anything
New photos coming soon

I now have the front sheet metal permanately installed. All gaps are perfect.
I have the complete A/C system installed with new filter/drier. Its been evacuated and recharged with R-12 and works perfectly and is ice cold.
I jusr got my red lines tooday and had them mounted too and installed on the car.
I also bought new NOS trim rings about a year ago and put them on with the center caps.

Are the A/C parts NOS?
Oh yeah, the car is awesome. You are putting me and my "shade tree" restoration to shame!

Phil,
The parts are aftermarket. I try to always buy NOS parts but with A/C parts its better to have new and clean parts and there arent many NOS A/C parts out there.
The filter/drier however is brand new in the box NOS.

I read your Sunday weekly thread too and your restoration s going to be very nice as well..good luck

True Joe, but to me it's a safety issue if you drive it at night. Remember one thing tho. There's more idiots on the highways today than there was way back then.

Dominic, the red reflection in your paint looks awesome. At first I thought the car was painted that way. Sure would be a killer paint job if it was. Don't take it the wrong way tho, the paint job looks great.... even without the reflection.

I just noticed that too once you pointed that out.
Its the reflection from my other car actually
But I know a guy that can actually pull off a paint job like that and he is somewhat local to you. He has painted vehicles of the people I know.

Dominic,

Your car is looking great. It's come a long way and it looks like it's getting close to being finished.

What is your other car? Looks like maybe Ferrari 599 GTB? I see the Yellow badge and the wheels look to be Ferrari.

Where did you get the condensor and hoses? Are you using a POA valve?

Phil,
Drier and POA valve are brand new NOS.
I bought the drier from someone on ebay.
The POA valve I bought from a big ebay seller called PacecarJeff. He sells alot of GM NOS parts but they arent cheap.
The condenser I bought from an ebay seller named ccsautoparts.
The have 2 different condensers foor the 67 GTO. Make sure you buy the one named concours. Its already painted and has the right bends and bracket for the upper connection. It comes with a drier too that looks close to NOS

RDR,

I hate to pop your bubble, but those fender extensions under the headlights should be black, same as the grill. Mine have always been.

Looking good otherwise.

Yes 2 rules of thumb on that
There is a thread about that too. They were built with the extentions painted black and color of car. My car is a 2 owner car I have owned since 1982 and the extentions were color of car.

The '67 convertible I have here to do some work on is a mostly original car. They are body color on it. I happened to notice tonight when I was showing a friend the difference between a '66 & '67 (since side by side).

What plant was your car built in RDR?

You are doing one hell of a job! I will go back to my assigned corner now.

My car is a Framingham car. I did just found a pic of an original 67 and they are painted black. I need to look into this further.

Mine was built in Kansas City, 2nd week of July 67.

Funny how they had differences by plant. It just looks odd to me where the color changes at that spot, but one can only see it looking down while standing right in front.

And BTW, I try to keep mine as correct as possible, but it is not Concours correct everywhere.
