77 Chevy dually
Thinking of buying a 77 chevy 1 ton truck. Looks in decent shape. Has a 350. I would like to make it a tow rig to pull the enclosed trailer. It is standard wheel base but has no bed. Anyone have pictures or ideas for a bed?
Hell can't beat $200 for a running truck. |

You can't buy anything for $200 any more. Jump on that!
I'd recommend a utility platform, or build your own. Verify if it is truly a dually pickup or if it is a cab & chassis model. The dually will have a wider track. K

455 or 400 Pontiac. Unless you can a good deal on a complete LS with air. I like my 2500 with cruise and air.

Here is my 1977 Chevy 1/2 ton 4X4. We are at the Indy Nationals here running my Uncle Bob's 1963 front engine dragster. This picture was taken back in the early to mid 80's if memory serves me correctly.. We used my truck to tow it (trailer it) and drag it back to the pits after each pass. I owned this truck for more than 30 years.

I had a 1976 1 Ton crew cab but it had a 454. Had dents every where but was a great tow rig. There are lots of used beds for sale for newer trucks. Measure some of the trucks out there and see if one of the newer ones might be made to fit without too much work.
