Has anyone changed 14" 8 lug rims to 15"?????
If so What kind of rim did you use. I've heard that the Cutlass rims work ok

How did you guys get 8 lugs balanced? A friend needs them done and the machines at his tire place can't spin them.

It's a little bit of trouble, but can be done off of the car. Take one of the rear drums off and mount it to the balance machine. Then mount each wheel to the drum and then you can spin it. Some truck shops have an on the car spin balance machine, but say they can't do the rear if it has a posi-traction rear end

Look for an old Goodyear tire shop!
They have a plate that is used for Bug wheels and Pontiacs! I'm still shopping for one to have for my own!

I've been told there was a 63 GP at the POCI Nats last month that had done this. Email me privately and I'll give you a contact name and phone number of someone I know who went and has pictures of this.

Hey Skip Fix,
I have the tool needed to balance 8 lug wheels (also works on the old Volkswagen 5 lug wheels). I'm in the Montgomery, Tx area. We'll hook up if you can't find the tool elsewhere. |
