Default Pypes Exhaust on my 79 Trans Am

Hey,

First order from PY for my newly purchased 1979 T/A, and wanted to let everyone know it went great!

I ordered the Pypes 2.5 exhaust with the Race Pro mufflers, and it worked real good. A real nice setup that fit well, and The sound is just right for me! My order came in 2 days.

Thanks to Stacy for all the help in the order process, and I will be back for more stuff soon!

Bob

It is a nice fit. You have to do some cut to fit on the pipes. I have headers on my car, and I had to test fit the whole system a few times to get the fit just right so that the mufflers had enough clearance with the rear of the driveshaft. Once I got that right, it went together and fit nice. It took longer than I originally planned, and you have to have patience to get it just right!

As far as vibrations, none to speak of. At an idle, the exhaust is real quiet - way quieter than I would have expected. When you get on it, it had a nice sound, but not real loud, which is fine by me. I have a 72 Cutlass Supreme with a 350 in it, and a Flowmaster system, and it is much louder, and has a droning sound at cruising speeds, which grows old after awhile. The Pypes system does not have that issue and has a nice sound at cruise.

Some guys may be disapointed with how quiet the Racepros are....I like a little quieter exhaust, but I will admit, I did not expect it to be as quiet as it is.

By the way, I also put the Pypes splitters on as well, and I couldn't be happier with the look and quality of the tips. They look great.

Hope this all helps.

I put the same system on my '77 bird with a 455 and headers. Your absolutely right. It is astounding quiet, no drone at any speed. I can listen to my stereo or talk , but when you step on it she will let out a bark. John
