Default Sick Week 2024

I'm signed up for Sick Week 2024, @ the end of Jan. Trying to get things prepped. I got an extra relay for use with either fan or water pump, extra fuel pump relay, back up pump, belts and radiator hoses. I've never driven the car this distance in one straight drive before. Also having to make my trailer hitch using pictures of hitches I see on Google. I couldn't find a pre made hitch for 1st gen Firebirds. Gonna be pulling a 4'*8' trailer
Anyone got pictures of their 1st gens with a hitch?

I can’t help with the trailer hitch pictures but I think it’s cool you are doing Sick Week. What class are you running in? Car/engine details?

I hope to run in Sick Week some day. I still have lots of changes to make though. (6 speed and a single turbo)

I got mine from U-haul in 2018 for Drag Week. Had to play around with the trim options to get it to say one was available. Took like 20-25 days to show up. I'll see if I can dig up my order form.

My receipt just says custom hitch. Website says 8 week lead time, I think I called them and they were cool bringing that time down to 3 weeks.

This part number comes up for a 1969 Camaro.
UHI24915CH

This one comes up on a 1967 Firebird.

That looks really nice, mine won't be nearly that pretty.. but it will do the job. I copied a picture I downloaded on line and made one. It's bulky and overkill for a 4x8 utility trailer. The 1st pic is the one I copied, then my POS...lol .could have made it with the smaller ball attachment, but I already have multiple 2" adaptors to use.

I have one like shown above (the ball mount) that I am thinking of throwing away, if anybody would like to have it.

Just watch tongue weight. Mine has a thick bar that wraps completely around to the front side of the gas tank and bolts to the trunk floor pan with another plate inside the trunk.

Six days, four tracks. Starts in Orlando, then Bradenton FL, Gainesville FL, Adel GA, and back to Orlando. You turn in a best time slip each day and cumulative times determine winners for each class. They sort of run in class groups but you are just running for time, no eliminations.

I'm running in the Dial Your Own time class. I'm not sure what class I would otherwise fit into. Big block NA, but I'm not nearly fast enough for the guys in that class. I've wanted to run one of these event for a long time, Drag Week is usually too far from me. Won't be much in the trailer, just my drag radials, some basic road side repair stuff and tools. Looks like the routes between tracks will take us on some highway miles, and some back roads through some local towns.

Have a blast Scott we will be rooting for you. I've done 4 Drag Weeks. Tons of fun. Even better if you have multiple cars in your group. I too used to be BB NA Street Race but the Street Eliminator is now my favorite as I'm getting more competitive in the 10.0 class.

It's kinda like playing Tetris. It sure helps that I don't have a fuel cell or batteries in the trunk! If you need to change wheels for track and street, it almost requires a trailer although I have seen wheels carried on a rear cargo rack or a rooftop carrier. Definitely advantages to pulling a trailer along with a few disadvantages. All this goes in my trunk or back seat area except the exhaust, of course (back seat is removed).

Good luck!

January 28: Registration Day and Testing, Orlando Speedworld
January 29: Orlando Speedworld
January 30: Bradenton Motorsports Park
January 31: Gainesville Raceway
February 1: South Georgia Motorsports Park
February 2: Orlando Speedworld
The schedule for Sick Week, I took the car for a cruise today, 1-1/2 hours through traffic and a short stint on the highway. About 55 miles total. Lots of traffic too. Car ran good with no issues. Gas mileage is only 8-9 mpg..but that's about what I expected probably be 7-8 pulling a little trailer.

Temps should be good! I won't be able to run it for all it has. It won't pass tech for under 10 flat. Need more roll bar. But I think everything else is good to go.

What clutch and pressure plate are you using, very impressive 4-speed car.
