Default Listing on RacingJunk spammers

WTF??? Listed my GP for sale on RacingJunk yesterday afternoon.
I got four hits within 2-3 hours. All fraud guys. Even to point of sending fake PayPal emails saying the funds plus a shipper fee were there but to release them to my account I was to send a payment to their shipper first. Right!? I wasn't born yesterday!!
Be wary.

I did contact PayPal and forwarded the bogus emails to them.

X2 on that. I got the Invest in my Company in Africa scam constantly at work until we set up filters for that bs. Right before I retired the stuff went to spam and immediately was killed and deleted without ever being opened. Internet Exploder had so many holes in their system that we eventually went to different software.

Recently on local craigs list there has been someone advertising a 12k$ Ford 7.3 crew cab for 1500.00.

The amount of posts this person is generating is astounding, not just once or twice but dozens of times.

I get that on Craig's list. People will text me right away on my listing but always say I need to respond to them via email. Not sure where the game goes from there cause I always tell them to F off.
What, do they just capture email addresses to sell that way?

Internet Exploiter, Ford Exploder . Let's keep it straight.

So, PY is good, and ebay is relatively okay then?

So thank you I could never figure out how that would work in the favor of the scammers to get my money. now I understand thank you.. not that I would ever fall for the scams from craigslist but I just don't understand how they said that they send me the money all the time to my PayPal and pick up a truck when all I was selling it was a tailgate and they also want to send me $3000 for a tailgate that I was asking $300 for.. and also these people are on a marine reconnaissance or an Air Force boat and they can't use the telephone they can only email me. ha ha very nice guys

Our state just put some people in Prison for a Craig's List deal where they advertised a vehicle at a good price, pictures, etc. Meet at the Holiday Inn on ******** road.

So the buyer shows up with the cash and he gets robbed and HIS car car-jacked which is used in the next scam.

But the cops caught the people and jail time for the three of them.
Be very careful on any car deal and especially Craig's List type deals.

Sadly that's common. I always meet people from CL in a VERY public daytime parking lot and have my hand on my Glock

I like the ones where some of the photos are not the same car.

Hmmm... those "cash only" $15k+ deals...sure... not without a swat team lol.

Police departments here have a few parking spaces reserved for "internet" transactions.

Think I've seen some of that nearby my area. You can call local departments and usually can arrange to have law enforcement present or in sight.

A good idea for sure.

You cashed that check, bank gives you the money, eventually the bank finds out that it is scam, you get arrested, plus you got pay back the bank. You end up with no wheels, It happens here in Los Angeles alot. Be careful.

The Post Office is a great place to have handle your issues (by using their system).
When they get involved, as you said Mail Fraud at the minimum.

I buy stuff when I can using the Postal System. Paypal and other methods are no where near as good about clearing up that stuff.
