I would agree with John V's guess at the side scoops. Makes sense.

When the Pontiac engineers were coming up with the Trans Am package, this was their first design for the side scoops.

MikeN., the prototype TA moldings look a little closer to what the IDOJ Brake Scoops look like, but I still think they are different. Hard to say from the only pic I can compare with, but the IDOJ Scoops look like they are comparatively longer.

1969T/A, "only guessing" is not a "good point". I stated that this was a "theory" before I outlined what I thought was logical.

The question is whether anybody knows why the IDOJ Scoops don't look like the Super Teen Scoops, don't look like production TA Moldings (though, earlier you stated you recall them being so), and although they may more closely resemble the moldings on the pre-production TA, I don't think they are those either. I offered a plausible theory. You suggest they are TA moldings but I think there is clear picture evidence they are not.

I would love to see the episode that you mention with another look at the IDOJ car.

I think a 2nd IDOJ car is unlikely but it would be nice if you could find the episode to view. Unless the Scoops in the IDOJ scene you refer to look different, then we still might not know where they originated but a Barris redesign of his '68 Scoops is a plausible (and possibly provable) conclusion.

You don't see the side stripes in the intro scenes for the "My Master, The Chili King" episode either, but the camera angle is such that it is impossible to say if they were on the car or not.

I contacted George Barris shop "Barris Kustom Industries" in California
They said he did do some custom work on the "I Dream Of Jeannie Car"
But none of the parts were from the "Superteen Firebird" nor did it have anything to
do with the "Superteen Firebird". It seemed they were not very willing to
release much info and wanted to know why I was looking for this info.
Could They Be Modified 1969 Trans Am Parts?

P.S
I will contact them again soon
to see if they will release any other info they may have on the
"I Dream Of Jeannie Car".

Has anyone else heard anything about this.........

I just got a call from a car broker that is trying to track down.
The "I Dream Of Jeannie Green Trans Am"
He said it was sold to show for $1.00 dollar for legal reasons.
He stated he has two high end bidders one from oregon & south dakota
That are fighting over a 1969 trans am convertible that just went up for sale
and the price went from $250,000 to $500,000 on the car
he said they are both interested in the "I Dream Of Jeannie Car "

I came across something very interesting if you go to page
111 in the book "The Fabuluos Firebird" it shows that there was some
kind of 3 piece prototype spoiler made for the 1969 Trans Am
that looks just like the one that is on the
"I Dream Of Jeannie Car"
