With all the destruction caused by Sandy I doubt they will be racing this weekend. Looked at the Atco website and didn't see anything tho power and WIFI is spotty because of the storm. Is there a rain date or is the race cancelled till next year.

Hey Bob,
I assume you & Diane made it through the storm ok...
I just asked Mike Spiz about this & he said Steve Laughlin said it's still a go!

Atco track says they are ready and everything is a go.

I just called Atco Dragway (856-768-2167). The Storm didn't hit them much at all. They are doing some clean up and will be all set for this weekend's racing. Friday - gates open at 4:30pm - ANYTHING CAN RUN
Saturday BOP Fall Nationals (BOP-APALOOZA)/Car Show/Swap Meet - Gates open at 8:00am.
Sunday they are open for all 1985 and older (FALL FINALE)/Old Time Drags/Car Show/Swap Meet - Gates open at 9:00am.

One thing to keep in mind. Bring extra fuel (Diesel/gas) for your tow rig... NewJersey has said there is a shortage at the pumps because of the storm clean up efforts.

Gas stations are OK near Atco! Most problems are from stations with no power up north which is making long lines at the ones pumping.

We had to drive 35 miles into PA to get gas yesterday, so I am not going to make the ride to the show. Under the circumstances, I wish they would post pone it until the gas situation gets back to normal.

According to Atco's website, the track is still open. The problem will be the gas for the tow vehicles. Does anybody know if the Atco area is ok on the gas situation?

I agree with you Gary. We are not going to set up as a vendor. It would be nice if the track would let them delay it until the spring time. Let the people try to get back on there feet. Its going to be hard just to get to the track alone. Other then that there will not be alot of people there if any.

according to the guy that runs the car show (Tom Szymczyk) anything at exit 4 and cloer to Atco was fine. Now that could change by the time I hit return, but as for right now, everything is OK. PY is not going with a trailer, but i will be going with my RED 4spd GP.

Not going to make it if it is this weekend.
Too bad they don't postpone it due to all of us still with issues.

I'm one of the network engineers for my company and we declared a disaster yesterday.
Went to our DR site to start our recovery today and the power at work finally was turned back on.
Unfortunately, we have a couple hardware issues and I won't get home in time to load the car and get to the track. I haven't missed this event in like 4 years.
SUCKS!!!
