I was looking under the car a couple days ago and noticed there were no shims between the core support and frame. I know there were some there when the car was taken apart.
Since I have a new BeCool radiator to go in I figured it would be a good time to add the shims. So, how do I decide how many go on each side? I know I will have o loosen up just about every bolt on the front end
Here are two pictures, thesecond is before the teardown and you can see the gap across the hood is pretty even and the hood is flush with the fenders,
In thefirst picture you can see he gap widens from the center out to the edges of the hood and they are raised above the fenders slightly.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated..

Phil, if your fenders fit nicely do not add shims! They are not required under the support, and adding any will alter your fender fitment. Adding on one side will change hood to fender gaps. Is your rocker stainless straight, or does it change direction where it attaches to your fenders?

When new, the factory installed 3 shims initially and added or removed as needed. They must have used a gauge to determine the correct height. when I replaced my body and core support bushings. I used what the initial amount was and the result was good. The door vertical edge was parallel to the fender. The core support to frame gap was just under 1/8".
