Travel is a wonderful thing....

We've been as far south as South America (25th anniversary cruise), as far north as Hudson Bay (35th anniversary trip to see the Polar Bears on the frozen tundra), as far east as Europe (lived in Germany (1974 - 1977) and took our daughter and grandson there for Christmas in 2013) and as far west as Hawaii (1st time in 1980 and second time in 2016 for the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack).

Travel allows me the opportunity to do all different types of photography - which is something I've enjoyed since I was the photographer for my HS yearbook and paper back in 1970.

We also enjoy racing. We're HS sweethearts and were going to the local track separately before we met. At 18 I was pitting for her older brother. We've been to an F1 race at the Nurburgring in Germany, dirt tracks in Germany and in at least 7 different states, all but 5 of the current NASCAR tracks and the NHRA Nationals at Charlotte.

It actually would make a nice intermediate plane that you could fly with some time on a good trainer. The Great Planes .40 Corsair is one of the best flying planes I've ever had and I have more flights on it than any plane in my collection.
Right on, it is the GP, 57" wing. I have an Eagle 2 trainer that I started over 10 years ago, probably sometime in 2003-2004. It will make a nice trainer if I get back to it and is the same plane my brother built in the 80's and that I flew after parking the Mustang.

I bought an XB-35 flying wing plan sometime in the late 90's that's still in the tube. With the advances in batteries and motors I think now would be a good time to build it so someone can fly it. I'll build it and build it right but not sure that actually flying these things is for me.

I like to fish for bass with light tackle. I have a canoe and have a number of spots close-by that are easy to get into and normally have little pressure. Quiet except for the wildlife. In my old age I don't sleep much so many Saturday mornings I'll put the canoe in at daylight, fish for 3 or 4 hours, and be back home before lunch.

Right now my hobbies seem to be finishing a second bachelor's degree and raising my children.

However I see the light at the end of the tunnel so once I have time I'm getting back into medieval reenactment.

Before I had issues with my knees (they are now permanently straight), I used to do a lot of hiking/backpacking. I live 1.5 hours from Yosemite, so I spent most of my time there. Done Half Dome before you needed a permit. Was lucky to score a permit for my Death March to Mt Whitney too. Never got into climbing though.

I didn't know there were a number of long time members here also into rc planes. I got into it during August of 2017. I think I will start an RC plane thread separately.

I rotate hobbies every few months.

Pontiac musclecars are always my hobby foundation. I may have a few sideways distractions, but my Pontiacs are always a mainstay.

RC planes, as already mentioned. I love warbirds. All my stuff is electric, and most are scratch built from foam board. It makes it real cheap to rebuild WHEN I crash them.

I play electric guitar and bass. A few years ago playing guitar was almost as essential as breathing. I don't pick it up much these days, but it waits for me when I am ready.

Guns are another, although I can leave this one for months on end. I enjoy building AR-15's. My faves are 9mm AR's. So much fun to shoot.

I want to do more fishing, especially when I semi-retire in a few years and move back to MI.

I may take you up on that! We are ultra lite when we hike/climb and don't bring much "good" food. I am looking forward to the trip!

Yes, permit now need for half dome. I didn't win the lottery but found a back way around that issue by getting a wilderness camping permit at "little yosemite"...automatically got the permit for half dome. Most people were not aware of that. Best hike? "The Narrows" at Zion..top down.Technically 16 miles but about 20 in reality. Permit was required, air temp was 108 and water temp was 51 degrees. Since you are in the river most of the way it was brutal one day hike.

I play golf and video games. I’ve been trying to find a men’s league or something around here for playing partners. I have nobody to golf with.

I like to fish but I grew up in Tampa. Freshwater fishing is a poor poor substitute. If I lived a little farther north where big pike were a thing I might feel a little different. Here I think it’s mostly bass.

Sweet on both accounts!

Let me see if I can identify all without the google...
I see an AK, a carbine M-16, a couple of BAR's, a Thompson, a 30 cal Browning?, an MG, a couple of HK's (MP-5, and what looks like a rifle caliber HK, unsure of model), and an MP-40. How did I do?

Your other weapon, displayed in Walking Dead trim, can be thwarted with Right Guard and a breath mint or fifty.

Sweet... Gonna have to look up the HK51 to see what that's all about.

TAKerry, Nice work, I made a piano into an entertainment center for my wife, but I like metal work better!

I build some custom bicycles. Also have other vehicles.
