I did a title search on this car and just got the records back from the State of Kansas (yep Kansas still lets you do this!). Nothing really I didn't already know. The guy that bought it new (his name is on the Protect-o-plate) owned it for about a year and is still a barber in Leavenworth. He then sold it in 1970 to a older man who drove it in well into his 80's and then passed it down to his daughter and son-in law who I bought it from. It was in the same family for 39 years until I bought it in 2009.

Did I mention it still has the T-3 headlights and all of the chrome and stainless trim are near perfect!

I am now listing the GP at $7000. I spoke to the original owner recently and he confirmed that he owned it it 3/69-4/70. It was purchased new at Barter Pontiac Buick GMC in Olathe, KS (still a Buick GMC dealer). He thought it was a pretty car, but it was a gas guzzler and that he needed something bigger for the family. He also said the timing chain broke at 5000 miles and that it was so new that he had to wait several weeks for the dealer to get the part from Pontiac. I've got the full documented history from day 1 on this car and it has always been babied. It has never left the Kansas City area and has always been tagged and registered. Only about 2000 miles have been put on the car since 1986. I've got every service record from 19k miles forward and the oil has been changed every 1500 miles. That probably explains why it still runs so well!

The GP is still available though it now has 55k miles and a new fan clutch and starter. I'm also getting ready to get the gas gauge fixed with a new sender and possibly new tank. I took it on a little road trip this summer. Drove 700 miles at 70-80 mph in 90-100 heat and had absolutely no problems. Also drove it to work round trip 30 miles on Fridays this summer. Car is super reliable and runs great! Still asking $7500.

I am somewhat stunned that no one has not jumped all over this car !
Over the years (10+ years) seen so many people being on site wanting to buy a nice 69-70 GP. Saying wishing could find a nice car for a great price....well

Here is a great unmolested original car (Only original one time) and no buyers.

Offering up a great car here for that kind of money.

Dave

It really has to been in person and driven to be appreciated. It does have some rust, but it's been well maintained and has never been modified in any way. Low miles and fully documented. Perfect interior, chrome, and glass.

As I might have mentioned, if I end up keeping this car, I plan to just fix the rust, replace the top, and preserve as much as the original paint as possible. It really is a time capsule.

I have had a lot of request for photos here recently. Anyone know of a good solution other than Flickr to post a bunch of pics? I'm working on under the car shots.
