Default '71 Formula 455 HO

A friend of mine just sold his '69 T/A and is looking for a replacement. One of the cars he would consider is a 1971 Formula 455 HO car. The car would have to have the original motor, all matching numbers and in strong number 2 or better condition with no issues. Possibly a '71-2 GTO 455 HO again original motor and numbers matching everything. Strong number 2 or better.

I appreciate any help and will get you in touch with him on the right car.

Thanks,

Jody Traylor

They sure are! I have seen Mark's last year when we visited him during the Dream Cruise. We are asking a lot here but there are only a couple of Pontiacs on the list he would really want. He has looked at some 69 and 70 Z28's, Lift off hood Runners, SCJ Mustangs but has just not found the right car. He would also look at a very nice 70 Judge in a good color but they seem to have went a little out of his comfort area for a strong 2 or better car.

There are a few out there, but good ones are hard to come by. Values tend to be slightly less than TA's in the same condition although significantly rarer. Be sure if he's looking at 71's that it has the RA option on it, as it did not come standard with the HO engine.

Best bang for the buck however will be an HO 71/72 GTO - they can be bought for less than the F-bodies and have still not been recognized by the market. My recommendation would be a WW5 72 which came with the Y99 suspension - hands down one of the best riding GTO's ever built. Once the market returns I think your friend will find the best appreciation on one of these.

Thanks ! He could possibly do a '71 TA in Blue. I love the GTO's also, no vinyl tops though as he is not into that look. He is willing to wait for the right car but ready to buy if it comes along now.

Thanks again and if anyone has any leads at any point I appreciate the help.

Jody

I was at the show and thought that was by far the most interesting car in the for sale lot. Neat car.

Car was sold but I am sure it could not have been in great condition for $20,000. Thanks for the lead though !

Me, too. If my project car Q weren't over capacity, I would have followed up on it...
