I’ve seen a leather seat car before but, never a power seat one.
I believe the number of power seats was 903 for 69 models, with a mid-year 68 intro that sold 278.

I've never seen a verifiable claim on the leather option for either year, but I would think the 69 number was considerably less than 903. Remember too that the coor and the code were different for the 2 years.

Kenny's right. The seating area was in the pattern of the non-knitweave custom, but the sides were Morrokide vinyl.

@Einstein: Wow on two items! First, great knowledge share on leather interior birds. I’ve only been in the hobby for about 30 years and have never seen leather interior. Second, you mean there used to be rare/desirable cars at the AC Auction?! 😁

Yeah. Met Steve Ames there, he was selling a few used items. I bought July 1969 parts books from him for $25.

I recall a 24k gold plated Delorean cross the block, expected to bring $45k, I think it ended in the mid 20s.

After digging into it, I think the only reason the leather interior was an option on the 69 Firebird was because of the Canadian Comanche. The leather interior was part of the standard package. Check out the hood pin location. It's easy to Google and find pics of the Comanche tan leather interior, but it would have looked far better in red. That would be a pretty cool retro modification to a stock car to have a set professionally done in a different color. BTW when it comes to rare 69 Firebird stuff, I have a buzzer warning speedo that I'm pretty sure only came on about 200 or so 69 Firebirds. It's in mint shape and is in a pile of rarities I plan on putting up for sale soon.

77 Trans Am at $7.5K BIN in CA. Has a lot of good parts in it. Seems like a sound project to start with.

Hi all, Attached a pic of the gold leather power seat in my 69 Comanche Firebird. It is the Instant-Aire option that garners the most discussions.

Wow what a cool car. Can you share any details on who did the upholstery on the car, or is that original?

I’m wanting to use my leather interior as well and will need to know how you found a hide dyed in the weird mottled gold.

72 Formula Firebird 455 HO automatic 1 of 276 at $10.6K NR in Kentucky. Sold by one of the eBay dealers, so don't be surprised if it suddenly get pulled before auctions end, but you never know. Seldom seen rear console is something I always thought was cool, but it's really cool because it's rare as no one ever sits back there.

Hi,
We looked through a pile of leather samples and compared the color to the original seats in protected areas. This was as close as we could find. Attached is a picture of the tag glued on the back of leftover scraps of leather. I think the two hides came from a company in Texas.. maybe. Tag says "Manilla Sand", two pieces, total was 114 sq ft

The original leather bucket seats were worn and drivers bucket was beat. Just had a local auto upholstery place redo with two hides and asked him to match the original. Its not perfect but overall was happy with his work

69 Firebird convertible at $18.3K BIN in Illinois. Looks like a pretty hard dinger on this one, so I don't think it's worth that much. If the frame is bent, this could be the type of car that can't hold an alignment, but you only know that after driving it a bunch. Then again, I have absolutely zero knowledge of frame damage, so there's that. Looks like it was a pretty nice car, but nothing too special IMO.

I try and stay away from hater posts, but think of this one as public service announcement for how to recognize your dream vision of a car is fine, but it may not be profitable. This car is a 67 Beaumont in Canada. It's not a "real" Pontiac by some definition, but I love these cars. This car is currently at $100 with a reserve. The concept of a purple 67 Beaumont with goofy exhaust and an altered stance with over-sized wheels may have sounded good at the time, but it's not working for me. Odd that it has a 400 Pontiac engine as they came with Chevy engines. Second pic is a stock 67 Beaumont and I think it's a pretty cool car.

I hate the use of "LOL" when used too often, but I actually laughed out loud.

Beaumonts (and Chevy II based Acadians are not actually Pontiac’s. I don’t mean that is my opinion, I mean it factually.

While full sized Canadian Pontiac’s (more or less Pontiac body panels and dashboard with Chevy Impala Chassis, powertrain and interior) in that era were indeed sold as Pontiac’s the Beaumont and Acadian (basically 100% chevelle and chevyII-Nova with slightly different grilles, taillights and emblems) were never marketed as Pontiac’s. They were there own brand. They have no Pontiac emblems. Their only relation to Pontiac was that they were sold by Pontiac dealers in Canada.

As for my personal opinion about Beaumont’s and Acadians, I consider them to just be rebranded chevies. Not a bad or good thing, just not my cup of tea.

As for full sized Canadian Pontiac’s my opinion is a bit mixed. They are more Chevy than Pontiac but you could say that about every Pontiac built from about 1980ish to the end.. my main beef with Canadian big Pontiac’s in the 60’s is the Chevy chassis with Pontiac body panels resulted in awkward, inset and off centered wheel placement that was the antithesis of Wide Track!

69 Firebird NR in NJ at $1400. No engine pics 350 auto. Way too crusty for me.
