Quarter Window/Door upper weather strip
In the first two photos below ... there is a tail or extension on the top of the quarter window to door window seat that doesn't seem to want to fit in the roof rail weather strip very well. When I attached this seal to the glass I couldn't find a place to tuck this or get it out of the way ... did I do something wrong here? Looks like it's there to prevent the chrome trim from cutting into the roof rail weather strip? (I don't have something on upside down do I ? )
In the last photo ... this is the molded end at the front door hinge area of the roof rail weather strip, IIRC it was held in place with plastic push pins? The divots to mark the holes in the repop piece are kind of ambiguous ... anyone have a photo of how this piece attaches? Sure wish digital cameras existed when I took this car apart

I think that strip is installed upside down.

The weatherstrip is mounted on the chrome molding properly but the whole assembly is upside down on the window itself.

Well that explains that
Thanks. So I'll leave the strip in the chrome the same way and just swap sides of the car.

Here is a factory original setup from a low mile 69.
Btw, The chrome molding was not held in place by glue but buy a compressible rubber gasket. I think the host sells strips of it

Thanks for not laughing folks
Anyone have a photo of where that roof rail strip connects to the door pillar by the top hinge?

Factory installed weatherstrip and paint
The white stuff is just old wax residue.

Excellent. I see it's attached with some kind of push pins rather than screws ... come to think of it I may have saved those somewhere.
By the way ... the quarter window seals fit way better when they aren't upside down

glad to hear, the way you had them would have wrecked the roof weatherstrip eventually!

Door Weatherstrip Retaining Clip or Window Lace Retaining Clip
The pictures I just sent to Dataway shows a retaining clip that the roof rail weatherstrip is sitting in that spot. Is this correct or is that supposed to be for the upper window lace on the inside?

I’m not at the garage anymore but I’ll check tomorrow, I imagine it’s there as I recall seeing them in all hardtops.

Yep, mine has that clip on both sides of the car, same place, it's riveted to the metal weather strip channel. Unclear to me exactly what it's for except maybe to force the window into the roof rail weather strip because there is no full frame for the window glass.

For anyone that needs the plastic retainers for the vent window area of the roof rail weather strip I found that these pins from McMaster-Carr work wonderfully. I couldn't find them for sale by a repop vendor anywhere.
https://www.mcmaster.com/90221A212 Make sure you order them in black.
