Bucket seat extensions
Can someone school me on seat extensions?
I'm a big guy and don't fit well in a 70 GTO, Bucket Seats, no tilt (formula) wheel. I did a search and found some bucket seat extensions. OPGI is the only place I could locate them. So I ordered a couple sets and my luck received a notice they were on backorder. They are 2" extensions. Doesn't sound like much, but this may just be enough to make it where I'm comfy driving. Any input, pictures, where to buy, would be greatly appreciated. |

Gunner,
I just moved my existing tracks forward 1 1/8", which made the seat that much farther back, and it worked like a dream. Drilled a new bolt hole in the track at front & made a 2" extension plate for the rear. Charles |

Hey, thanks, didn't know that. Got to get a new catalog and update my search-fu.

You can make your own. Your local Home Depot/Lowes should have some 2" wide steel. Cut them to the size you want, drill holes in each end. You can use the orginal fasteners to bolt them down and use a carrage bolt on the other end so as you tighten it up the square portion digs into the hole you drilled. The carpet should cover everything. I did the same thing on my 72.
