Power Antenna not working
My 79 Trans Am power antenna just stopped working recently last summer. How can I troubleshooting this problem? Is the power antenna getting old and worn out, bad antenna relay or bad wiring? Let me know how I can find the problem. Many thanks.

Yes...there are ways to troubleshoot it and repair it. We have the factory delco repair parts, test equipment, manuals, and training.
If you need more details send me a PM or post your email address. References available. olds |

If the cord in the mast broke and the motor keeps running but the antenna is stuck, you can repair that yourself. GM still sells a repair kit for the antenna. It is the top section of the mast with the cord attached. You have to disassemble the antenna housing to repair it, but it is easy to do. I did mine last summer on my 10th. It works fine now. If that isn't your problem, try using the service manual for diagnosing.

What 3tasme posted is correct. If its just the mast cord, it can be fixed. Anything more...you are in a jam as the parts for the original antenna are discontinued from GM.
