Has anyone heard from Bob lately? I noticed that he hasn’t posted since 12-14. I spoke on the phone with him on Nov. 25th. I know he had some personal issues recently. Hope all is well.

Buddy called me to tell me about this thread.

I’m ok, just slammed at work. Usual crap , start at 6am there till 6 pm mostly.

Trying to finish up the last of you guys distributors . Here lately that’s taking up the Saturday’s and sundays. Guess I’ve gotten too long in the tooth to stay out in shop at 10-11pm working on em, so weekends has kinda been it this last year and a half or so.

Thinking very seriously about paring this down drastically after I get the last of em out of here or just quit fooling with em altogether. Gotten too tired to stay out in shop after getting home from fooling with the cars at work during the day.

The parts quality has gotten to the point that everything is pretty much junk. Not gonna get into the shipping in and out of parts as that’s a whole other thread currently unfolding already.

Need to get rid of approx 500+ complete cores and some odd 14 or so machines one of these days in not too distant future.

Anyway, I’m good, healthy for now just slow go till weekends…

Time to write a "How To" book with "What For" per application types. That would be a page turner.

I agree with HIS, please don’t let your book of knowledge go unpublished. Teaching us information that works for our Pontiacs could be your legacy and reduce your workload.

I do. It have any Pontiac cores left outside the 4 HEi’s and the 3-4 iron housing distributors I’ve got boxed up for projects here.

I’ve got all sorts of Chevy, ford, some Oldsmobile point distributors, and some few Buick distributors.
Nothing of any real intrinsic value other than a couple tach drive 409 dual point iron case distributors.

I guess the notion never really struck my fancy to try and own any ram air 4/5 type stuff. I can build anything I can dream Up so really no need in that respect.

I have reworked a giant pile of em though over the years.

I guess a fellow gets to a point where he actually realizes he’s NOT gonna live forever and then starts thinking about what happens to the stuff after he’s gone, around Memphis area no one but me and a couple other guys older than me ,by a good bit are interested in the Pontiac thing… so just makes you wonder why you went to all the fuss about trying to kill yourself to acquire all this stuff in the first place. But I guess when you’re 20 you have a different outlook on it.

I still got several projects I wanna finish or see finished. Got an airboat I’m determined to repower with a 455, and my uncles 62 safari wagon is wearing on me as I’ve realized parts for those things are super slim in popularity. Hell, anything 61-63 Catalina wise is like hens teeth, especially rear bumpers.

I guess a book would be kinda handy as I’ve got some old procedures that haven’t seen the light of day in many moons. I would like to see some of those methods live on…
But it seems the numbers of us fooling with these old cars are dwindling fast , or rather will be here shortly.
