Here are the pictures of my brother-in-law's 67 GTO. I'm not sure how many pictures I can post. If I run out of room, I will create another post. After speaking with my sister again she told me something happened to it in early 1971. They decieded that instead of repairing the GTO, they would put that money toward purchase of a more "family" car, since they now had a small child and another on the way. It was really hard to inspect car because of all the cow patties. There was a light coat of straw all around with many cow patties underneath. You didn't know you had steped in one until it was to late and I was driving my Corvette. Didn't want cow manure in my carpet. From what I could tell, the car is mostly rust free[S.C. car all its life]. There is a thick coating of dirt on top surfaces, but I couldn't find any rust around rear window. Only rust I found was behind left rear wheel at very bottom of quarter. Years ago, S.C. would put a A,B,or C at the upper right hand top of title. If you were first registered owner title got an "A' second got a "B" and so on. His title has an "A". Back then an "A" title was a big deal.

Default More Pictures GTO

Here are more pictures of the 67 GTO. Also on way home ,I saw this 60 T-Bird sitting in a grassy field with some type of car covered up beside it. Had to take picture of those also. Check out what remains of the red shag carpet and the racing steering wheel. Those were the days.

Man, that '67 looks VERY good to me. Great color combo and a 4 speed to boot...I'd love to find one like that...If I was in the market.

Greg, I had not seen the car in many years, 25 or 30 probaly, I remembered it being much worst than it is. I have tried to buy it many times, they are building new house and now might be time to try again because my brother-in-law is never going to do anything with it. He lost interest years ago. I have no idea what to offer for it if he is interested in selling. Remember, this is my sister and I want to be fair to her and myself.

Greg, after looking at the OCC website, I think you guys need to take a chainsaw and a leaf blower with yas. No way you can tell what that stuff is like with all that crap around them. LOL

Actually, as I understand it, they always have some actual drivable cars for sale that are kept inside or under a pole barn or something. I think the GTO, Chevelle and Charger are in that group..
Bad news is, it's looking like heavy rain in the forecast for the entire day Saturday. May not even go now.

I'd sure be trying to get it. It's really frustrating when people hold on the cars for no good reason whatsoever.

Well, I knew that you would know about it Russ. I was familiar with it when I saw the pics but never been there. Rain is expected. If it's not a downpour we'll probably still go but the way the rain has been around here for the last month, it might be a wash...No pun intended.
My friend told me that the GTO looked good through the fence. He's trying to talk me into getting it.

The guy also supposedly has a lot of '60s parts cars.
I'm not taking any money (not much anyway) and definitely not taking a trailer.
I guess my question is...why go at all? lol Ron

Just for fun. Acres of old American cars. It's like asking a kid why he goes to the toy store even if he has no hope of getting anything. It's still fun.

Ok...so I'm taking a little money...just not 'bring-something-home-on-a-trailer' money...Ok? LOL

Well, my buddy backed out due to the weatherman's 70% chance of downpours. Turns out that it didn't rain a drop. I spent the day repairing the deer strike damage on my VW Beetle. Which is what I had planned before he got me excited about the trip anyway...

What is the sad story of this event !!!

So many cars rusting in a field - no ( but up there )
Chance of bad weather on the day you planned - no
Friend bailing out at the last moment - no
Working on a fine day that you could have gone anyway - no

But
Working on your wobbly ( VW ) that you killed Bambi with - tragedy on so many levels..

Killing Bambi was the least I could do to him for what that beast did to my trusty Bug.

Been a while since I've seen that movie so I don't remember...but I'm betting not.
It's the third one I've hit so it's getting kind of routine. I just wish I could hit one in a vehicle that I don't care about. I might actually enjoy it then.
