Default Control Arm Nuts - How Tight?

It's been a long time since I replaced the bushings and I left the nuts loose until I had the front bumper back on.

Is 50 ft-lbs correct for these nuts?

I want to avoid over-tightening and not sure if they self-limit or somehow compress correctly with a measured torque.

Mike

Full weight needs to be on the car before you torque those. Nose, engine, hood etc. I'd probably go as far as to make sure the radiator is in and full as well.

Not exactly the same, this is from the 1970 Pontiac Service Manual.

Thank you and understood. This stuff all happened this year, which is why the control arm bushings had not been tightened.

Thanks for taking the time to copy and post. The bushing nuts look like 50 ft-lbs. Hopefully it will be possible to get a torque wrench and socket on them at this point... I suspect it won't be as simple as it sounds.
