Question '66 Remote mirror disassembly

I've searched and only found threads telling people to send their whole mirror here or there for replating and they will do all the work. However I work at a chrome restoration shop, so I would like to do the work myself. Has anybody taken one of these apart themselves? I'd like to know how to so I can replate mine.

Thanks, Nate

I have taken one apart. Be careful with the cable ends in the pot metal ends. You should see how they come out. Then the parts can slide off the cables the mirror will stay attached to the other end.
