I am running a 3.5 X crossover to 2 3.5 dynomax mufflers. Is there a point when just going staight to mufflers is better? I am trying to get to 10.0's through mufflers. Right now I am stuck at 10.5's. Haven't been to the track yet with my new Victor and 1050.
Thanks Mike S

From what I understand the X can support at least 800 Hp and mabey more?? They use them in Nextel cup don't they? I would think at some point the packaging might be the limiting factor. JMHO
Jeff.

I think the only limit is the flow rate through the X. Once you reach the point where backpressure is hurting HP, then you've reached the limit.

I just had an "X" type crossover put in my car. While I was having the work done, I had a chance to look at a $5,000 system being put together for a 1,400 HP Chevy II. It had an "X" type crossover too. Mind you, the pipes were *HUGE* (don't know the size). It was pretty cool. Rather than using round pipe, they used oval pipe throughout.

Dr. Gas once told me that 3" X is good up to 600hp. They said beyond that, for Winston Cup cars and such, they recommend 3.5" X. Didn't get to hear their opinion on how high the 3.5" X will support before it's time to go to something else.

Pontiac Dude has some info on his site about exhaust size and horsepower. Here's a link:
