Its official, i hate setting valves! My back is sore, im hot and sweaty and one skinned knuckle!! I will definatly be going hyd. roller when i upgrade.

Anyways (its been a long day!), i set my valves to .026/,026 HOT, well see how it responds to that.

Good to see the tuning suggestions helped. I can't wait to see how your car runs at the track!
I finally fired/drove my new combo last weekend! Eventhough I swore not to race I ended up hooking up with a Stang. This guy is a street race ONLY guy who generally only races for $$$. He was so intrigued by my Pontiac at the end of the night he asked if I wanted to race for fun. I was intimidated by his car and reputation but said what the heck. His car has a built 351 W with Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads, huge cam, Holley carb, headers, 5 speed of course, and 4.10 gears out back. Long/shortHe can take me by about 1 car from a roll up to around 113 MPH where I run out of RPM from my 4.30 gear. BT fromn a dig i smoked him by 5+ car lengths in the 1/4!!!!! He did admit he had nitrous but did not use it. Still fun!

I'll report back soon with track info! JD

Good luck to the new owner of the Ventura II! Sold the car after 13+ years. Look for it on the Hot Rod Power Tour in the future as it's currently being re-configured as a Pro-Touring ride!

Well i installed the A/F meter and am having comm troubles. I had it working a couple times now nothing. I tried a bunch of stuff and have finally emailed the manufacturer. I was hoping to have it working for this weekend but doubt it will be.

On top of all this my car is running crappy. I have been messing with it but no luck yet.

It runs fine but anything over 2500 and very light throttle and it sounds like its missing/stumbling.

I checked with a timing light at idle and all is good.

I have messed with the carb ALOT and cannot get it to change anything.

I am going to change cap/rotor/points tomoroow and see if that helps.

Some days i hate having old vehicles!!!!!!!

Did you look at the plugs?
Might be one wire arcing.

Looks like i found the stumbling culprit, bad plug wire end in the cap. Replaced the wire, cap, rotor, points, and plugs (ACDelco RS45). Gonna finish up shortly. Anybody know what to set points to when using as a trigger only for aftermarket ignition?

I recall 0.019 but not sure.

I thought i had found the culprit but was still there, so i installed the nitrous instead for a break. Funny thing is the nitrous helped me find the problem without even using it!

I hooked the nitrous fuel into my reg that is feeding the motor aswell, bumped it up to 6.5psi and what happens? Idle goes to crap (to much pressure) and mid rpm stumble is gone!

It was running too lean. I backed the pressure down to 6 again, installed larger transition and primary jets, idle cleaned up and stumble is gone.

So i went and sprayed it twice, awesome, i want more!
