Mine was slow but not Ames fault . They were back ordered and I believe a lot of ledgendary are drop shipped to the customer. But I'm sure Ames will let you know. I'm surprised they didn't tell you if this is the case? Doug

I am not faulting Ames. Legendary is the issue. Right off the bat, I was told they would be drop shipped, and that they were behind. With that said, 70 days is not timely.

I'm still waiting for my legendary seat covers for my 69 bird deluxe blue,it's been over 9 weeks. I ordered it thru Ames thinking a bigger company would get it quicker than an individual placing the order. I would though think Ames would have contacted me on the extended back order delay...the seat covers are actually holding up getting the car on the road it's basically done

The seat kit was shipped when indicated, and was delivered this morning via UPS.

According to the the tags that are sewn onto the covers, they were manufactured 6/3/16.

Thanks to Ames for lighting a fire under their ass.

I shipped parts for one of the companies I used to work for. A customer called Friday morning and needed a part for a big commercial freezer and wanted it shipped UPS overnight Saturday delivery. The customer had to have it and paid extra for both overnight and Saturday. I shipped the part Friday afternoon. On Monday morning a very angry customer was on the phone wanting to know why I hadn't shipped his part. I told him that I had and it was supposed to be there Saturday. I then called UPS. The part was being shipped from Salem NH to Concord NH (our state capitol) a distance of about 30 miles. UPS told me they didn't ship to Concord NH, the Capitol, on Saturdays because they considered it RURAL.

Still waiting for my seat kits, was told they were to be shipped on the 26th of June, no luck, Called Ames following week, they called Legendary told Ames they were in Quality control that day wed and were being shipped out on friday. No such luck, Called Ames following week they said they will be shipped on the 23rd of June. I really don't believe that after the legendary outright lied to Ames on the Quality control phone call... I was told buy ames that their purchaser was going to call legendary maybe to speed it up a little... Haven't heard a word... My car is finished other than the seats and and a few little things I'll buy at GM carlisle Friday... To be honest I don't believe that these things will show up on the 23rd...I have to say I really am disappointed.Kind of sucks the fun out of this whole project....Ron

When PY sold out to Ames I had mixed feelings since I knew Chris for 20 years and they had contributed a lot to the hobby with repro development but the bottom line is Ames was far better at running a retail operation. I pick up my orders in upstate NY so I generally get them 1-2 days after I order them which is great!

The key to good service is to carry lots of inventory so most orders get out right away, keep that up and keep having well trained experienced staff on the phones and you'll have this customer for life!

A top notch website that I would want to use would be great, but I guess I'd miss talking to you guys on the phone :-(

Anyhow no one is perfect but you guys run a tight ship, congrats!

Placed order Thursday afternoon, received Tuesday at noon. That's pretty good.
