Cool parts on that beast and worth the current bid price (so far).

Default Hmm

Seller says:

"Here for sale is the worlds most rusty Trans am . ITS BAD . But it has a vast amount of parts , and the most important part I have a clear title . Its all matching numbers org engine (455 ho ) , short shaft turbo 400 , 12 bolt , all with the right date code . This is a complete car .... But the body is very rusty and the engine is stuck . You know what you can do with this car . Call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx to make me a offer . (not to ask my price ) . Thanks for looking . I know what I have so low balls please ."

So I say:

1973 ok, 455 ho?, correct date code 12 bolt? I like the last sentence the best!
Nice Tuesday morning laugh!

yea I know the 12 bolt is 70 only and HO is 71-72 Round port and 75-76 in name only. meant the question marks as more like "really" instead of a question.

I just got a kick out of:
"I know what I have so low balls please"

Made me think of those truck hitch balls you see every once and a while.

Looking at that car brought back memories of years past when I seen a cool car parked and stopped to ask if it was for sale. The owner say's to me "It's not for sale. I'm going to rebuild/restore it some day." This is a prime example of someone hording a car until its no good for anyone or to use for anything. The poor thing.

Lots of parts for sure, but are they any good. Cars this rusty are sure to have massive
leaks at the windshield and Rear Window. Likely all or most of the dash and gauges are
useless due to rust. Seat tracks are likely toast, as with most of the interior. The
Engine is frozen, and the short block would be the used item. Radio would also be toast due to rust. Basically what I/m saying is that 2,500.00 is the high water mark, and likely you would have a difficult time recouping this much with the condition of the parts. Still it is a 73, and many of the parts could easily be used, but I'd be very
careful on the spend for this one. I bought a Car in nearly the same condition, and
although it was required to get the parts I needed to finish my Car, most of what I used
was not metal. Formy Hood, and outer tail panel were very good but the rest of the sheet metal and anything exposed to years of water could not be saved. I will add however, that if you are like I was, and restoring an old Drag Car that was missing many
of its original parts, A car like this one can save a lot of parts searching. For this use
its a great Car if bought at the right price. Be careful on the spend.

The rims, spoilers, and fan shroud are worth more than twenty 2-3k but that were I'd draw duh line.

Wheels are prolly JUNK.....serious rust behind the urethane insert will cause it to distort and delaminate....

Removing w/o spoilers (in one piece) from a car that rusty..... USUALLY ends up in disaster...for the mounting hardware....and backing structure...

However....the glass doesn't appear to be rusty....at all.....AND....the air in the tires SHOULD still be GOOD....

Talking Another 'survivor'

It's got genuine patina. Maybe just a little too much patina. Maybe it's a super rare Shelby T/A. It's a good thing HE knows what he's got....

Looks like it still has the Poly front valance.

Hate to admit, but I have fixed worse before.. Break out the wallet, the spot welder and the rotary and a home made Electrolysis tank. This does have plenty of dated parts, especially hardware.. would like to see the data plate..
