I shoot for 9.5 on iron headed pontiacs but I know a lot more after built and I pump them.I have learned from years of building them if over 180 our CA piss gas "could" be a problem with 91.Tom

I ended up buying the engine. I looked it over pretty good, stuck my inspection camera in every orifice, rolled it over, checked for bent pushrods and whatnot. It seems it was stored well, drained of coolant and all the openings were covered with tape. The cylinder walls looked good on camera. I suppose I should pull the intake and oil pan and really check things out before I put it in the car.

For now, back to cleaning and painting and re-bushing control arms...
