I recall it was discussed but I don't remember what we decided. Looks like it is staged there as part of the productive operations (since the next engine in line is the same way), as opposed to part of a repair.

Do you think the whole engine side of that flex plate was painted, or just the part visible? Or was the plate painted before installation?
Just overspray (not intentional).

Some folks probably don't know but those shirts were provided by GM. My dad used to hand them down to me and I wore them proudly to high school, until I was old enough to get my own.

Nice.

The Stingray mule (shown in red, now silver) and the two Mako Sharks still exist and reside in the GM Heritage Center.

Mike Noun mentioned in another thread that it may have had something to do with the temp sensor. Since they aren't in place on the photo, I'd say that's as good a guess as anyone has had.

I always liked the Mako Sharks. There was one roaming the streets where I grew up.

Recently I've been reading some early 60's archive of Spiderman .... noticed and ad where you could order live MONKEYS sent right to your house for like $20. Hilarious ... and probably unpleasant for the monkeys.

Wonder if the wire was off to set timing down the line, what kind of timing light would they have used?

In my opinion these old factory photos should be the last word in correct restoration regardless of what any book says.
