Just installed my new Ames hood tach. Noticed that there is no light. Did I miss a step. Everything works correctly, just no light when I turn the lights on. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.

You have to run a wire to the fuse box. Usually the light comes on with the key switch.

I changed the bulb to a red led. Much easier on the eyes at night

And it's factory-installed, so I think it's correct.

The tach harness had three wires. Once to ground, one to the coil, and one to the fuse box. All three are hooked up and the fuse box one is hot with the key on. Still no light. I'm wondering if the bulb could be bad or if the tach is somehow defective. Did I miss anything anywhere?
