Wanted Thom McAn GTO shoes any size or condition, finders fee also gladly paid.

Has anybody ever seen these for sale at a swap meet, the nationals, garage sale, etc?

Doing a google search on Thom McAn GTO shoes show vintage ads with a few different styles. How would one know if shoes at a swap meet were GTO shoes? Were they marked "GTO" anywhere, on the lining maybe?

When I was a kid all I bought were Thom McAn shoes. Maybe I had some and didn't know it.

We used to get shoes from Thom McCans when living in Maryland.

Have you tried the couple who is running the new Museum in Pontiac , IL?

I bet he knows the answers or may have a set in his big collection.

I had a pair in the box in the mid 90's. They had been used, but not too much. I think they were 9 1/2. I got $500 for them, and thought I had hit the lotto. This was long before digital photgraphy, so as a result, I don't have a digital pic, or any pic for that matter.

Insoles had a checkered flag pattern with "GTO" printed on them.

Finding a pair of either style would surely be one of those once in a life time situations, as I don't think you'll easly find someone who bought a pair and didn't wear them. But you never know.

I have found and held a virtually brand new size 10 still in the box with the shoes wrapped in tissue paper.

Worn only once to school for one day and put back in the box. They hurt his feet!

But not for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Slot Car Track soles up close were really cool.

When you think about it no other muscle car had it's own shoe, very unique marketing stratgey.

What would have been really cool if Pontiac had given away His and Hers Thom McAn GTO shoes with each purchase, after all that's what they called the new Hurst shifter ''his and hers''

''Mama needs a new set of shoes'' ''Papa got a new set of shoes''

I didn't even try to fit the ones I have on my 11.5 foot. I forgot they had a woman's shoe. Now that is probably got to be one of the rarest GTO/Hurst related items ever.

I have seen a picture of a pair fitting that description, but the owner's name was not given. The picture was of the shoes in the box with the tissue paper.

I was very impressed!

He has brought them to my place, coolest item for a GTO not made by GM ever!

Won't sell, but I learned how to drool when I was a baby when I was cutting teeth, it's nice to know you can still do the same things you did as a child!
