I didn't realize they went to steal. That does appear to be the size they used in the later 78-81 Birds when they redesigned the dash for the bigger radio opening.

SD73 - I fully agree with what you had stated, but am still unsure of what this actually came out of since I had it for so many years.
I mentioned 2nd GEN, since it sure looks like it fits the profile of the radio cut out hole in the dash
