Shouldn't the front carb tag be 7025178 ? You have ......79 listed as front and back.

the front carb did have a 7025179 Tag on it. Not sure if that tag was placed there since original or moved from the back carb. All other numbers appear to be correct on each carb.

Default It shouldn't surprise us after 47 years !

It shouldn't surprise anyone that if one of the dump carbs was replaced at some point in its life, you may see this. After all, it was 47 years ago !

Here's a photo of the 3 tags as you would see them (from front to rear) on an OEM 1965 GTO Tri-Power. In the photo, it is just like under the hood, so bottom is front, center is center, and top of is rear.

All the Best !
Dave

Dave, thanks for the post and picture. I am by no means a tripower expert, just pulled the numbers as they were on the carbs. The tag i have for tag 7025179 is C5 73 and the center tag tag 7025175 is c5 58.

I miss cut and pasted at the top of my post. I only have the two tags for two of the carburetors. 7025178 is the tag I don't have which sounds like it should be the front tag.

What condition are the carbs in? Fully functional or do they need rebuilding?

The carbs work on the bench. All the linkage moves them and they move freely. I bought this setup 10 years ago and it has sat wrapped up in plastic under my bench for all that time. I would probably rebuild the carbs just to be on the safe side. I have three rebuild kits, two extra two barrel carbs for parts, and a few small boxes of carb parts that go with this set up.

I am going through parts I have not used in some time to clean out the garage. I will sell this one and then find a 65 gto that needs it, always happens.
