Drive shaft might be 3 feet long. With that short wheelbase "Rides like a Cadillac" my foot, more like a po-go stick on wheels.

if it did, i'm sure it would have been 'homemade'.

the following does not instill much confidence...

"Home made drive line running a 2.75:1 diff ( that's my best guess anyway)."

As much as I love 75-77 Venturas, I'd have a hard time justifying $5000 for this, even if it is fairly clean. Maybe the price is a tip off that it's really got an SD block in it.... On the other hand,

it was originally a V6
This is an indication the seller isn't exactly well versed in the details of this car, as a V-6 wasn't available in Venturas till 1977.
I'd still check it out though, if I was within 50 miles.

How about this Samba? It's going to be restored becuase it was the second one produced..
I know these are bringing big money now and this one has historical significance... but DAY-UM!

Restoration will be centered around the data plate rivets, the metalfinisher will need to be consulted on this one!

Yeah. If you read the article, they've already contracted a British coachbuilder and they are excited that they actually found ONE of the plexiglass corner windows in the junkpile!

Quote:
Kalff claims to have bought the Samba’s remains, which included the drivetrain, the aforementioned ID plate, and even one of the plexiglass rear corner windows, for a four-figure sum.

Kalff has since carted the remains to his shop about 30 miles away and started planning the Samba’s restoration, which he said will require at least 10 years and another six figures; a British coachbuilder has been conscripted to replicate the missing parts of the body and incorporate as much of the existing body as possible.

So the most valuable part of the car is the engine .... and they have one crappy picture of it, and a dozen pictures of the body which is worth nothing.

I'd be shocked if the seller actually knew a Super Duty from any other engine. If he did, you can believe that he'd have more pics of the engine than the car.
Not saying I wouldn't check it out if it were nearby though.

I'm sorry, but is it an ultra rare dealer installed Ram Air V personally owned and raced by Jess Tyree? $100,000?

I agree.

The chalk marks on the firwall are more for the guys who would ask "Any truth to the rumor that the inspector in Kansas City was left handed?", not for the type of guys who would put an Edelbrock carb (2 of em, no less) on. I was surprised to see that.

I do think it's a cool car, though.

I'd buy that for $500 even if it isn't legit.
