Talking GTO Songs

Jon's (Carbking) post about Pontiac music got my thinking back to my GTO/Record collecting days. I too was once on the endless quest to obtain everything GTO and like Jon collected records. I have since given up this portion of collecting.
But did make copy/recordings of most.

So while sitting here enjoying my coffee I went looking for some of these great and not so great old records.
Surprisingly a good number can be found on Youtube,
So just for giggles here are a few for your Listening Pleasure

The TIGERS 1965;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UenM1XMZ6Os

Ronnie & the Daytonas;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_FS...FSicQWimU#t=13

Big Sounds of the GeeTO Tiger;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5IL1lOvuwo

Billy's Got A Goat-Patty Flabbies';
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSw6SbYesDY

Go Go Gto Carol & Cheryl;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ytuu-0rNh7M

Jan & Dean - My Mighty G.T.O.;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGpZ_4G9Wsk

Gee Too Tiger - The Force Five;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TJWpXdURrA

This is one that made me realize it was time to move on

Rodney And The Brunettes - Little GTO;

I have a cassette tape filled with Pontiac and GTO songs I purchased years ago. Here are the titles:

The Judge
Trans Am
Billy Got A Goat
Gee To Tiger
Firebird
Little GTO
Wide Track
Go Go GTO
2+2
My Mighty GTO
389
Little GTO II
GTO Prowl
Pontiac 70
GTO The Humbler

I might have some components laying around to get the songs moved from cassette to comp. Than I can get them on CD.

Mark

Jeff - when collecting, did you ever see a copy of Go Go GTO by the Carmel Sisters? Allegedly, Carol and Cheryl were also known as The Carmel Sisters, and the same song was published on the same Colpix label under the same identification number. I have searched for a copy (or even someone whose 43rd cousin thrice removed by marriage that has actually known someone who saw a copy) for about 30 years. So far, nothing!

I had once intended to put these 45 RPM records in my jukebox, but have never really had the time to do so and to cut the custom labels to go on the jukebox.

By the way Jeff, I finally finished the Auto 100 stamp collection. There are almost 800 different stamps in the collection, and 4 factory albums. But the letter you had from the company really helps the collection. Should you be interested, this link puts the auto stamp collection in a different light: http://www.tuvaluislands.com/stamps/LOW_story.htm

Jon,

I do not know. The cassette only has song title no artists. Whoever made it felt that artist listing was not needed, I guess.

It sounds like something from the early 70's and is fast like "The Ramones" style of music, but not hard or punk, just fast.

Mark - is it instrumental only, or are there lyrics?

Jon.

Question for you John Lee Hooker fans:

Was "Mustang Sally & GTO" ever recorded as a single?

Blues was not my music genre, so have no printed reference books, and cannot find it using Google.

I did acquire a copy of Hooker's CD "More Real Folk Blues" on which the song is track number 4, and will get this information on my website. But would like to acquire a 45 single if available.

The Scramblers album mentioned by H.I.S. is pictured.

Whenever these posts come up, there is a country song hardly ever mentioned about a race between GTO and a Mustang. In case you never heard of it, here it is.

Thanks, while the GTO is mentioned, more a song about the bad girl, than a car song. Not exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks, while the GTO is mentioned, more a song about the kids in school, than a car song. Not exactly what I am looking for.

I have tried to find it as a single for years and haven't came across any or even a reference to one.
