It's coming along great, Glenn. You MUST bring this car to Pennsylvania the weekend of May 21-22 for the PY open house and Pontiac race at Maple Grove (at least bring it to MG...but may as well make a 2-day affair out of it). I'm looking forward to seeing this gem in person.

Sounds like a plan, can you send me information on the racing? I did a couple of Goolge searches and came up with nothing.

You bet. As soon as it is ready to run, I will pack it up in the trailer and go as far south as I have to to find a track that is open and go there to run it.

Great - keep us posted. If you go thru TN let me know - we have good friends there with plenty of room. Big Pontiac man.

Fellow board member Jim Zeek would be the primary man to talk to regarding Pontiac Day returning to Maple Grove on May 22, 2011. Here is a link to his announcement of the races return.

I am still planning on leaving here Monday, sleep overnight in Indianapolis, and pick the dragster up on Tuesday, and return home with it around 9:00 PM Tuesday night.

Ok!

The dragster is at home in the garage.

The story: I arrived in Indianapolis on Monday night (well really Tuesday morning) at 3:00 AM. I had a Doctor appointment Monday at 1:30 so did not leave Rochester until 4:00PM. (well had a little delay there also as the right rear caliper on the truck was frozen so I had to go to the Ford dealer to get that fixed before leaving).

Because of the timing I hit rush hours in both Buffalo and Cleveland. Just outside of Columbus my wife call on the cell phone and asked how the rain was? I said what rain as I had not had any, not ten minutes later I was in a down pour and had HEAVY rain the rest of the way to Indianapolis.
I did not sleep much as I wanted to get over the shop. Parts had not arrived so the dragster was not ready to leave. We were missing inner tubes for the front tires, clamps for the drive shaft shield, the body was still over at the painters getting a finial buff. At 8:00 PM Tuesday I decided to stay another night and drive back the next day.

I could not sleep again and left at 5:00 AM Wednesday. Good thing to.

North of Columbus the roads were wet and the temperature was 29 degrees. Every bridge I cam to had cars truck and/or tractor trailers spun out beyond them (you guessed it the bridges were all iced).

I stopped for fuel 10 miles west of Buffalo on route 90 in New York at 3:30 PM Wednesday. I received a call from Ken Long, a freind that was waiting to help unload and he asked how the snow was? I said what snow as I had clear skies. 2/10’s of a mile further east on 90 I ran into white outs. I ran along at 10 miles an hour in four wheel drive.

See this news story.
A.M. Top News: Snowstorm closes N.Y. Thruway, strands motorists for up to 24 hours
Published: Friday, December 03, 2010, 7:46 AM Updated: Friday, December 03, 2010, 7:46 AM
A Lake Erie-fed storm dumped more than two feet of snow on western New York, closing a stretch of the New York Thruway and leaving trucks and cars stranded up to 24 hours.
State Police handed out coffee and food to motorists stuck in the gridlock near Buffalo. Emergency crews passed out water and protein bars, and buses picked up drivers and delivered them to a shelter at a senior citizen center.
An 11-mile stretch was still closed overnight but the highway reopened shorty after 6 a.m. and traffic was moving.

I arrived home and a few friends stopped by to help push it up the driveway (had to shovel the driveway first.

Luke, on of the friends that stopped by took some detail shots and has posted them at this link.

http://picasaweb.google.com/LZkustom...PugleyTjYv9Dw#

I am now considered part of the hole in the wall gang as we have cut a hole in the wall to get the dragster to fit in the garage. We promptly took it apart to start the engine install. Now you are up to date.

Is this into a den or bedroom? Looks like it. You're either single or have one understanding wife.

That is one heck of a nice looking dragster!
Great Work !! I love the color green myself

The trip from Indy sounds like a humdinger, we're glad that worked out well, Hauling a trailer in the snow must be a royal PITA

Ok, we had another meeting of the Car Nuts, (there will be another one next week, we will be wiring and plumbing).

Engine is painted and planted in the dragster.

It is just set in place so that wiring and plumbing can take place. The torque converter was not installed.

All are welcome.

Come sit in the dragster and exercise the smile muscles!

Blower engine is coming along, had to machine and replace all the dowels to get the caps to fit correctly.

Coming along really nicely!!

Credit to you

What box did you use??

A mate of mine is building a FED down here...although using a Blown Hemi.

Plenty of work involved in these for sure....But will be a fun drive when completed.
