Thanks for taking the time to test, and record your results dick. I can say that I am thankful that I canceled my Norwalk vacation time and decided to do something else.. I've had enough of this.. The bottom line is anyone can go fast with money... its not magic.. Period
Good luck to you guys.. May pride bite you in the ass before it kicks you down the stairs

Gets Old Doesn't it Adam?

Dick
I applaud you on your efforts to make the test as fair as possible, not everyone is ever going to be happy when it comes to this head to the eldy, people will hate forever, Like I have said in the past who gives two ****s what heads are on the car or how fast it is! The eldy cars have had years of dialing in their combo's lets not forget this compared to any of the cv's I have read about on here. A VERY good point was made in another post if u want it to be fair , or think the eldy wasn't given a fair deal, someone send their heads then to compare! Dick Spent alot of time and money on this deal I am sure!

Pontiacs forever!!!

The heads used in this testing are they from the original production run?

Nice power for sure.

"YET" I believe would be correct. At some point the CV has to out do the best E-head combo. It has to. CV head has greater potential than a rpm e-head for sure. The Problem is that the bar is no longer set with the rpm e-head. Its Tiger, High Port , Pro Port, Warp 6. JMO, Just sayin.

This is too great cv out of box,no crazy side loads acting on the valve train .now if both these set ups were placed on a 500 mile nascar type race which valve train set would show the least wear on tear down?

Great to see this finally happen. Not surprised at all, just wish I could have been apart of the testing. Up until the last two months I would have loaned my ported CV-1's for a dyno run.

Right now I would be happy just to hear it and smell the methanol. Getting tried of sitting in the car making motor noises.

Based on post #1 both had shaft rockers. I think that the cost of the SD WP fully set up without the shafts is about $3,500. I think the the as cast CV1 are $2990. Add in the mentioned bowl blend and competition valve job and the cost is the same. As cast or ported is less relevant when you consider the final cost.

I think it was a very fair comparison, dollar for dollar and component for component.
