Why that Shaker looks funny with a Perfomer
The 81 TA has had the old Turbo hood on the 400 and I decided to put a Shaker hood on it after tweaking the door and fender gaps.
The 400 has a Performer(not RPM) in it and used the little throttle linkage bracket from Edelbrock and all was well with a drop base air cleaner. Fit the Shaker base -hit the throttle linkage bracket if you used the Edelbrock piece because that spaces it up. Had to bolt it directly to the stand and use some flat stock to bridge the other bolt. So now adding the scoop the back end is low. Compared the Performer to an HO intake and the Performer is 1/4" up in fronts and 1/2" down in the back!

No issues with a perf and a 400. I made the Brkt from A extra orig, Perf Brkt didn’t give WOT.

I just dropped the bracket down on the stalks and added a strap to the other and it works good. Just need a Qjet spacer 1/8 in front to 1/2" in back to make the Shaker look perfect.

I've heard that a Holly Street Dominator intake......will get the shaker...in the correct position/height...
