Default Which thermostat housing and upper hose?

I have a 66 tri-power set up that I am going to restore and put on my 65 GTO 4 bbl car. It has the 4 barrel radiator with the inlet on the passenger side. Don't really want to buy another new radiator. Is there a combination of thermostat housing and upper hose that will work with my current radiator? What else might I need? Thanks. Happy to see this forum.

Someone with more knowledge will chime in, but I'm guessing 65 TP thermostat housing with TP hose? Ames can fix you up, or I a couple of 65 TP thermostat housings.

You have two choices--'64 or '65 Tripower waternecks. I've attached pictures of both.

The '65 points nearly straight up, so a radiator connection on either side would work with it.

All the other Tripower waternecks, I recall, point toward the driver's side.

Ames calls out a different 65 radiator for TP VS. 4 Barrel. P119ppH versus mine. That's what had me worried that I'd have to buy another 4 core. Called Ames and Big Jim indicates that the inlet moves over a little but still should work.

Thanks much for the info and photos. Bu the way, was it your tip to use an 1/8" pipe nipple and grease to remove stuck check balls? If so, thanks again. All three were stuck after lots of soaking in carb cleaner and PB Blast. They wouldn't budge. Bought a brass 1/8" nipple, used some grease and an upside down old drill bit as the ram rod and had them all out in about 5 minutes. All 3 were wrong, I believe, as they were steel.

The 64 Waterneck will work fine on your 66 unit and the hose should be very close to the right length for a 65 radiator. The nipple should be in the same spot.
