Default Throttle Cable Bracket correctness

2 cars - 2 separate questions

1971 GTO (non factory RA car but has been added since)

Car has had a R/A air cleaner assembly added to it. It appears the stock throttle cable bracket has been bent down and back towards carb to clear air cleaner assembly. Was there a different bracket used when a car came with Ram Air in 1971 to clear the air cleaner assembly?

1972 GTO

Existing throttle cable bracket has two different spots for attaching the accelerator cable (see attached pic). Is this bracket correct as all the ones I have seen and reproduction ones only have one opening for the cable?

That second hole could be for cruise control or TH350 kickdown?

On the 71 A-bodys, Ram Air was only available as option on the 455 HO, the throttle cable bracket is unique & a very hard to find restoration piece.

On a 72 GTO, the TH-350 trans was not used. On a TH-350 equipped '72 LeMans, the detent cable attaches off the top of the gas pedal ROD. Without a few more views of the two cable brackets on your '72 GTO, it's hard to tell if the rear bracket is the optional cruise control cable bracket, or if both brackets are off a later 70's 4BBL intake which used the TH-350 detent cable attachment behind the throttle cable bracket.

ol Pinion head thanks so much for the info. Super helpful!

Does anyone make a repop of that bracket for the 71?

Regarding the 72 I should have looked at the bracket more closely. It is a 2 piece unit (see additional pic). Cruise control bracket?
