Default What is this under master cylinder?

I am Changing the master cylinder on my 70 camaro. What does this thing under the master cylinder do? The front brake line comes from the master cylinder to this and then to the proportioning valve. It would be a good place to remove and install a linelock.

Distribution block/metering valve? Think it was 1970 only, or only a year or so. It matches the combination/proportioning valve used.

Disc brake metering valve. 67-70. Some folks call it a holdoff valve?

If I remember correctly i had to hold the button in on the back of that hold off valve to bleed my brakes. Also theres another valve in the rear brake lines towards the back,,,right before the line turns and goes towards the rear cross member. This whole system worked together for 70 to stop rear lockup i believe.. I replaced both of those valves on my 70 because i started getting rear lockup. New valves fixed it.
