Default The mystery car is here

Took a while, but got the new for me 71 Bird to Montana yesterday. Thanks to member Matt for selling it to me. It is a 71 Esprit (emblem removed). It is white on white. Power windows, tilt, AC. 350 / 350 set up. 110K and I don't think car has ever been apart. One repaint, no rust (So Cal) and a very well cared for car. Drove it two hours home from interstate. No rattles, rides perfectly. Has a little flat spot in carb performance is only issue needing attention. What a great solid unaltered car. About two year plan to upgrade with parts I already have and only item to aquire is a 400 block. Will add early TA sway bars. Change 14 Honeycombs to 15 inch. Has gauges, will add 8K tach. Will do 96 headed 400 with Turbo 400, factory dual snorkel air cleaner for factory look, also RA manifolds, and of course dual exhaust. I already really like this car, cleanest I will likely ever buy.

Will clean up this weekend and add shots. Was a little dirty here, since washed up.

Nice, last picture looks like the start of a Smokey and the Bandit run. Good Luck with the car.

When i was a kid there was a guy named Dennis something that had a white 71 formula and it was one wicked fast bird..and yours is a twin..minus the hood...everyone wanted that car....and we all watched it rot into the ground in his front yard when he got the love bug..and then one day it was gone..a year or so later, i found it in a big salvage yard in Illinois...what a shame...

nice car ya got there.....i wish i had it....is that Don Garlits unloading it off the transporter?wheni saw the first pic on the maroon shirted guy with the stroker cap..i sure though it was..after it was on the ground and i saw the ponytail (eeeek) i started laffing at myself..again

What a beauty! Enjoy it. That flat spot is most likely from the vintage accelerator pump falling prey to modern fuel with ethanal in it. Replace the accel pump and you should be good to go.

What sleeper that car could be. I love it whit no hint as to what you could possibly put under the hood. Maybe a spoiler but thats it IMO. Just a beautiful car. Congrats.

There is a post about that car on Trans Am country written by the guy who had it before Matt. That is a very nice Esprit, hopefully you won't add the rear spoiler.

Nice ride.
I'd have to add a rear spoiler.

Looks really nice White / White.
Espirit gets the bonus DeLux interior too - sweet .

i'd stay with the 350 tranny for less mass if you're doing a 96 head 400cid . fwiw

Congrats on the new Bird
