Thanks Tom,
The rear is apart and the car is tying up a buddys' lift so we will probably bead blast the originals if we can't find a ring and pinion pretty quickly.

This is what the original ring looks like. My buddy says it looks like the car sat in the same spot for quite a while.

Don’t forget about Fabcraft. Not sure where you’re getting all the other needed items but they have it all. If you need to move the car, put the axles back in with a piece of pipe over both ends to hold them inside until your pumpkin is fresh.

Didn’t say Brad, I said Fabcraft. It may well be J&S Gear but on eBay it’s Fabcraft. Brad goes by 4speed427 on eBay and sells some SD related stuff still.

I did speak with Fabcraft and they have a 3.42 ring and pinion. However, it is not a direct bolt-on to my original posi carrier.

I think I would rather find a good original 3.42 ring and pinion than do a work around.

The bead blasting came out okay, so it will be put back together with the original and I will continue to look for another as insurance! I won't be dropping the clutch at 4000 rpm anyway!

Tom, I would be interested in your friends 3.42 if it becomes available.

Thanks,

James Q
