Default My concours restoration

I havent worked on my 67 in a while.
Got the engine back from the rebuilder after 2 yrs. He is the best in the area and i had to wait but it was worth it. Everything is balanced and all new components

I only used AC Delco or NOS parts and all the parts have the original date codes too like the water pump, starter, NOS spark plugs with the green stripes that are no longer made, even the alternator has the date codes and the diodes you see from the back are date coded as well. Tried not to look over any details no matter how small.
If anyone knows these cars and has suggestions please tell me. Always open to critisism and suggestions

Awesome! I ran across a "new" 66 post cpe. at a small car show in July that just blew me away. He'd just finished a year-long rest. in May, and this was his first show since completion. I saw NOTHING that didn't appear completely correct for his car, and at award time, he and I tied for 2nd.. place Typical "good-ole-boy" local judging I love my car...but, it can't hold a candle to his!!! I felt really bad for him..he should have received best of show without question, much less 1st. in our class. enough of my rant I'll see if I can post a pic of his if i can find the file(I took A BUNCH).

Looks like you are very much on tract for a beautiful car...congrats, I know it must be MUCHO$$$$$.

Keep up the great work and it will be a beautiful car!!! I did a full frame off resto on my 66 convertible and I know how much work (and money) it is to make a car as good as, or better than new. It looks great so far!

yes John Pirkle alternator
Waited 6 months for it but its the details like date coded diodes and correct pulley and fan plating that makes the difference, Well worth the price too.

I like to see photos of that 66 you mentioned.
Its nice to see other peoples cars too just to pickup more tips.
GM never had certain procedures wriiten in stone. They varied form plant to plant
so its nice seeing other cars from different years and plants too

I hope to have the body on the frame in the next 2 weeks
I first want to start the engine as it sits on the frame just in case there are any issues like oil/water leaks or something else.
I need to mount the radiator support and radiator, hook up a battery and run a fuel line to a temp gas tank.
Once its running well I will mount the body that has been out of pain since last year and in storage

I'll sure post some up...tried to put a couple on yesterday on the end of my post, but my wife has moved a bunch of my photos to "zip"? files and I couldn't get them out...dang her hide I'll make her show me this weekend.

Very nice, I know what I have in mine and yours is a step above what I have done. Great effort, just let me know if you show it in the Chicago area so I can leave mine home.

PCV tee is wrong, the three hoses should meet at a common intersection, spaced 45 apart to form a 90. RH vacuum fitting for it should also be a 90 pointing forward. PS cap is newer plastic, should be metal. Valve cover breather doesn't have dimples. HTH.

Carb isn't correct, possibly a service replacement?

Thanks for the feedback.
Every drawing I have seen shows the left hand fitting to be a right angle brass screw in fitting. My intake manifold is original and it has a pressed in nipple exactly like the right hand side fitting. Do you know if some cars came this way? Ames catalog page 184 shows the way you are talking about.
Thanks for the power steering comment. I Will start my search and look for a metal one
I will check into the valve cover breather too. The one you see pictured is an original AC Delco breather with the right part number on it. Any feedback you have that can help me would be appreciated
The carb I have on there now is a replacement. It should be correct with the exception of the blue WA disk. I been searching for an original one with the blue disc, super hard to find in any condition.
