69 Bird convert, 350HP, TH400, daily driver, Rally II 15x8 wheels. Need to replace the rubber and looking for a nice combination of appearance/handling. Thinking BFG T/A P23570R15 for the front, P24560R15 on the rear. Grateful for any insight about problems/success with tires for a street setup.

Thanks -- Buck

Buck, I think the 235/70 will be too tall of a tire for the front and you'll wind up with scrubbing promblems. If you are running 8" wheels on the front now and have no promblem I would stay with the same size tire that you have.

I've been looking around at what others have on their cars for ideas for mine. This is what I found last week, '68 FB 215/60-15 front on 7" wheel and 255/60-15 rear on 8" wheel; and 245/45-17 fronts on a custom made American Wheels 17x7 w/ 4" offset and no scubbing promblems and 17x9 rear wheel w/ 4.5" offset on a '68 Camaro.

BTW: here is a tire size formula I use

Height=(width x aspect ratio x 2)/2550 + rim size

ex: 235/75R15 is 28.8" tall
235 x 75 x 2 divided by 2550 + 15 = 28.8

Width = (width/25.50)

ex: 235 divided by 25.50 = 9.21
this is 9.21" wide at it's widest point, the sidewall, not the tread width.

Hope this helps,
DanC
