Launch in 2nd (Turbo 400) on the Street?
Hey Everybody,
I want to have some fun - some minor tuning on the street - in between getting the track: Can I launch in second - T.400 with a brake without hurting the transmission? Well - I do have a neighbor with a Chevelle - So - 315 /60 BFG non-sticky tires, ladder bars, good shocks, etc. 3400 lbs- (1.41 60's at the track with MT 28 x 10.5W.) Thanks, Craig |

unless your t brake is set up for second gear leaves, the answer is no.

You can launch off the footbrake in second if you want, without doing any damage

What he said. Otherwise just foot brake it. The street probably won't hold a transbrake hit anyway.

All depends, I can leave on my 28x10.5 slicks on 5-7 psi and get a decent 60'.
Some brakes do not work in 2nd as stated. You won't hurt anything leaving in second. |
