3.5 inch Magnaflow exh. on a first gen Bird
hey Guy's I am thinking about buying a used set up from a fellow racer for my 69 Bird that sshould be the only exhaust I ever need? My question is has anyone ever run a 3.5 inch Magnaflow exhaust on a First gen. Bird? I would like to know just how much clearance if any it has? Right now I have a brand new Pypes 2.5 inch header back system with Goerlich exelerators and stainless clamps that I am thinking selling if this system will fit my car? My biggest concern with the smaller exhaust is if and when I want more power I don't want it to be restricted....
Thanks |

Magnaflow doesn't have a 3.5" system. 3" is the biggest. 2.5" mandrel bent will perform efficiently up to 500 hp. Putting even a 3" system on a lower hp motor will hurt your bottom end. If it is a bargain, grab it and hold on to it until you upgrade your motor. Either system should last you the life of your car if you have the same driving habits as most of us classic car nuts.
