Talking 63 Cat Article in Street Legal TV News

Just got this as an e-mail from Street Legal TV.

Pretty good article except the end of it where they talk about replacing the 326 being replaced with the larger engine.

Read and enjoy.

I was over at Scott T's and then went to Dan Jensens where it was being stored before it was being sent to the owner. It was an ineresting time with Scott and Dan talking about the car. Saw some other aluminum cars at Scott's in the past also. The blue '62 was great but it was not restored when I saw it.

Yep - pretty nice article.

The only thing I noticed was where they alluded that the Packer car was sold and then campaigned as the Royal car. That is not correct, as they were two separate cars (both of which are still in existance).

This comment was with respect to the forthcoming 1964 "Super Tempest" - so in that context it is accurate.

It was great that they acknowledged Pontiac's dominance in the racing arena from 59-63 in both NASCAR and NHRA.

I lived an isolated life in the early 60's out in rural areas where there was no TV, not much radio and the nearest drag strip was about an hour away. Began going there several times a year and one about an hour and a half away as a mid to late teen ager from'62-64. Moved then to a place that had no drag strip until about 300 or more got caught illegally drag racing then suddenly Portland Oregon had a drag strip.

Moved to AK in '67 and no drag strip for 8 years. What a dry time.

I just figured others would enjoy it.

Thanks for the clarification Keith.

Ha! They fixed the lead picture. I'll give 'em credit for that. They could have easilly deleted my comment and/or told me to just pound sand.
